Minnesota Final Paycheck Law

Minnesota final paycheck deadline for fired and resigning employees, with the statute and a calculator that returns the exact date your last check is due.
Minnesota Final Paycheck Law

Minnesota sets a fixed clock for involuntary separations under Minn. Stat. 181.13 and 181.14. In full: Fired: immediately, within 24 hours of demand. Quit: next regular payday; if that payday is within 5 days of the last day, it may extend to the second payday, not to exceed 20 days. Pick the separation type, enter the last day and your next payday, and the calculator returns the latest date you can legally pay. Accrued PTO payout is a separate Minnesota rule and is not included. Related: the Minnesota minimum wage, the HR compliance risk check for the termination process, and the all-state calculator. Nearby: Wisconsin, Iowa and North Dakota.
