Hawaii Final Paycheck Law

Hawaii final paycheck deadline for fired and resigning employees, with the statute and a calculator that returns the exact date your last check is due.
Hawaii Final Paycheck Law

Hawaii is one of the strict states. Under HRS 388-3, an employee you terminate must be paid on the day of discharge; someone who resigns gets more room. In full: Fired: immediately, or next working day if immediate payment is not possible. Quit: next regular payday, or immediately if a full pay period of notice was given. Pick the separation type, enter the last day and your next payday, and the calculator returns the latest date you can legally pay. Accrued PTO payout is a separate Hawaii rule and is not included. Related: the Hawaii minimum wage, the HR compliance risk check for the termination process, and the all-state calculator. Nearby: California, Washington and Alaska.
